Take A Minute

This has been a crazy summer.  I’ve gotten a few more gray hairs, little sprouts of testimonies to how much I’ve grown.  From personal struggles to watching America’s political and entertainment turmoil, to learning more and more about Africa, I feel as if I’ve absorbed an incredible amount of information.

I love the fall because of the feeling of anticipation I get.  There are three seasons in Los Angeles: fire season, hot season and where did the sun go? Leaves don’t generally turn colors and lay in beautiful patterns on our streets.  We don’t put away our summer clothing and pull out hoodies and socks.  But there is still an air of change about. As K’naan says in this song below, “I’m just gonna take a minute and let it ride.  I’m just gonna take minute and let it breeze.”

Eye Candy

I could get used to sample / trunk sales.  Last month, I picked up these gorgeous fulani earrings from Springcart:

and these adorable flower studs from Brace Yourself Boutique.

And today, they were there out again.  This time I picked up a variation of this bracelet my sister abandoned last time from Springcart:

and came across Peach Mailbox! If someone sent me these cards which feature scented cupcakes I would hug them and hold them and squee with laughter.

The designer, Gamie K, was so sweet! This was her first sample sale and I signed up for her mailing list so I can catch her next sale and grab some of these before she blows alll the way up!
